Guided Tour of Huntington Castle

On the day of the Garden Festival talk, guided tours of the castle will run hourly from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. (last tour 4 p.m.), offering visitors and non-gardening partners a rare chance to explore this lived-in family home. In this, the 400th year of its foundation, wander through elegant drawing rooms, atmospheric halls and intimate living spaces, all while hearing tales of the Esmonde family—past and present. Admire Aubusson tapestries, striking ancestral portraits and exquisite furnishings, and don't miss the remarkable conservatory, where a cutting from the legendary Hampton Court “Great Vine” still thrives. One of the highlights of the tour is exclusive access to the Temple of the Goddess, located deep within the castle’s evocative dungeon.
Outside, the gardens at Huntington Castle offer a peaceful and inspiring backdrop to your visit. Originally laid out in the 17th century, the gardens have evolved into a captivating mix of formal planting, stately lawns and ancient trees. Stroll through the French linden walk, explore the rose garden, or simply enjoy the sense of serenity that permeates this historic landscape.
